Synopsis: Neve Whitaker loves managing the Stardust Lake hotel. She gets to work alongside her wonderful family and she’s spending Christmas on the most enchanting, snow-covered island in Scotland. So why is her heart so heavy this festive season?

It might have something to do with the gorgeous actor Oakley Rey, the man she finished with before he left for California and the man she loves more than anything. With Oakley’s career in Hollywood soaring, Neve is convinced she’d only hold him back. She had to end it with him – at least that’s what she keeps telling herself.

But now she has a secret she’s struggling to keep, and when Oakley arrives on Juniper Island determined to win her back, Neve is thrown off balance. Will Neve’s fear of having her heart broken again push Oakley away for good, or is it time for her to take a leap of faith?

Kat's Rating: 5/5

Kat's Review: Oh My, I swear Holly Martin is a fairy and can just wave her wand and sprinkle you with magic; at least that's what it feels like when I read one of her books. The Stardust Lake Hotel is set on Juniper Island which is in a snow covered and beautiful island in Scotland. In the first book we see the hotel opening and the guy behind that is Gabe. In the first book Gabe has his own story to tell and in this second book we focus on his sister Neve who is the Manager for the hotel. Neve was a secondary character but you got a real feel for her in the first book and I really wanted to find out what happened next for her. She had recently split up from her famous actor boyfriend Oakley Rey and is shocked when he arrives on the island one day.

With Neve battling her feelings for Oakley, and Oakley doing his best to show Neve he wants her back it becomes a struggle between her feelings and the secret she is hiding. In addition to Neve we see more of Adam the Assistant Manager who has just come to the island for 3 months to help run the hotel.Adam is an easy character to like and he has his own share of heartbreak from his past. When he meets Ivy a resident of the island things take a turn for him and he is put in a position where he isn't sure what he is doing.

As well as the two main threads we once again get to see glimpses of Gabe and Pip, as well as Luke and Neve's parents. I felt like I already knew them all and this second book wrapped up a lot of things from the first book which I loved. Holly Martin manages to produce slightly magical feeling books, with lashings of romance and all wrapped up in a cosy Snow capped Christmas theme...you couldn't ask for any more! Once again I was transported away for the duration of the book and was sad when it all finished. I cannot wait for Holly's next books and think this and the first book would make an excellent Christmas present for fans of this genre!
